Every Saturday in December, we’d like to celebrate the holidays in Oakley by putting together a series of events that draw people to the business district and pull the whole community together! We'd love for you to come help us out! Whether it's communicating with local businesses, setting up or tearing down, or helping out with the various activities, we would love to have your help and input on all the fun coming to Oakley this winter! If you'd like to help out, or have some ideas, please check out our volunteer page, and then email Jason. In the meantime, look around at all the activities we have planned out!
Weekly
Each week we’ll be sponsoring a booth where local children can meet and get their pictures taken (free of charge) with Santa Claus, on Oakley Square. There will also be a craft for children to do, as well as a station for free gift wrapping.
In addition to the weekly activity, we would like to sponsor an activity once a week within the Oakley business district, with cooperation from local business owners and members of the community.
December 5th – Caroling
The first Saturday in December, we will meet up at 7 pm on the Esplanade and go throughout Oakley caroling in groups.
December 12 – Coffee Shop
The second Saturday in December, there will be an open mic-night at the Oakley Senior and Community Center, where we’ll have warm drinks and great music from everyone in the community!
December 19 – Light up Oakley
For the final Saturday in December, we will work to light up Oakley, with luminaries stretching from the 20th Century/Arby’s end of the business district all the way down to Hugo/the Cupcakery.
